The final episode in Tom Kerridge’s debut tv show, Proper Pub Food has arrived and it won’t disappoint. The first season of Proper Pub Food has delivered great recipes and some really handy tips from one of our most exciting Chefs. Tom Kerridge currently maintains two Michelin Stars at his pub, The Hand & Flowers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and his tv show has allowed him to share some of the great recipes available at the pub as well as some completely new recipes and ideas. You can get the recipes from the tv show and more by purchasing the book, Tom Kerridge’s Proper Pub Food.
The theme and title for Tom’s final show of the season is Family Food so to kick things off Tom cooks a good old omelette, but not just any omelette. Tom makes a full meal with this recipe with the humble omelette at the heart. He adds smoked haddock and parmesan along with a whole host of other ingredients to make this an omelette recipe you will come back to again and again.
Next on the menu is Tom’s roast chicken recipe which he bakes in hay, a popular method used by many chefs to add an amazing depth of flavour and a new dimension to traditional cooking methods. Tom includes a whole roast celeriac in his recipe to create an interesting twist on the traditional Sunday roast chicken.
For a super simple and nutritious lunch or supper, Tom shows us a great baked beans recipe. The baked beans will store in the fridge in a sealed container for three to four days, and can be enjoyed with soda bread toast as in Tom’s recipe, or as part of a larger meal. Tom calls his soda bread recipe the Michelin starred bread as he has been serving it in his pub, The Hand & Flowers for years.
For dessert Tom treats us to a real family pleaser with his Apple and toffee crumble tart. Mixing classic flavour combinations Tom makes an amazing and very naughty pud the whole family will love. Serve it up with some ice-cream or custard to really go to town!
